The Chinnery was formerly the residence of Lord Dawson of Penn, Royal Physician to King George V. On the night of King George V’s death it was Lord Dawson who administered the final morphine. Parts of the house date back to 1700s.
This south-facing 1 1/2 acre garden, in part designed by the landscape architect to Coworth Park, has undulating lawns and deep flower beds, rockeries and a patio that is a flower pot haven. The garden is full of perennials, annuals and herbaceous borders.
Resident Artist Jennie Roberts’ studio will be open to enjoy eclectic artwork and pottery pieces, such as birdbaths and ceramic vessels. The garden has several wooden sculptures crafted by local sculptors Pete Carling and Gareth Wood.
Directions: On the B474 from Beaconsfield, pass The Crown Pub on the right. The Chinnery is on the left hand side.
Parking: some parking is available in the driveway with plenty of parking on Church Road with consideration for residents.
Tickets: This is a 2 day event and tickets are £5 each, per day, refreshments available. Proceeds from this event will be in aid of Wycombe Hospital, Breast Unit.
