APPEAL FOR AMERSHAM HOSPITAL HITS TARGET
The Cancer Fighting Fund project for Amersham Hospital has been completed. The £25,000 Appeal was for specialist surgical equipment to treat patients with facial skin cancer. This will allow surgeons to preserve as much normal tissue as possible, whilst ensuring the cancerous tumour is fully removed.
The Appeal was started in January and has reached its conclusion thanks to the support of local individuals and organisations such as the League of Friends of Amersham Hospital, the Amersham Ladies Luncheon Club, Chalfont St Giles Bowling Club, Amersham & District Scottish Association, Chesham Bois Lawn Tennis Club, the Jolly Sportsman in Chesham and Jarvis Hotels. MARATHON SUCCESS FOR SCANNAPPEAL SUPPORTER
A huge well-done to Downley resident Bonita Gray. The manager of the local Dulux Decorator Centre raised nearly £500 for Scannappeal after crossing the finish line of the Windsor Half-Marathon event on 27 September in 2hr 44 mins.
