Scannappeal bowled over by ‘The Zippers’
Cotswold Challenge Raises £10,000
for Scannappeal
After much planning and some intrepid training, The Dirty Bakers Dozen (aka as The Knacker from High Wycombe Cricket Club) set off on their 103 mile walk on Monday 19th July.
Organiser Geoff Morgan says “much pain, effort and fun was had by all, only four completed the whole 103 miles but for those that have already sponsored us you can be assured your donations were the reason why we all carried on and finished in Bath”
The Knacker collectively completed 900 miles in three and a half days!
The money raised will go to the Cancer Fighting Fund which is currently for specialist equipment to diagnose the spread of breast cancer. The level of funds raised means that the group of walkers will feature on the Scannappeal Tree of Life, to be displayed in the reception area at Wycombe Hospital as a permanent acknowledgement for major supporters of this Appeal.

Some strange sights in Buckinghamshire over the May bank holiday weekend when Trust staff dressed up to take part in the Phoenix Trail Stretcher Challenge organised by Scannappeal.
Thirty staff in four teams undertook a series of challenges and walked 6 miles with a themed stretcher of their choice. Marks were awarded for the most sponsorship raised, decoration of the team and stretcher and successful completion of the challenges within the time allowed. The overall victors were Dick Dastedly’s Management team(pictured above) led by Richard Parker, closely followed by The Money Matters team led by Ernest Feasey who had an impressive number of sponsor signs on their team members and stretcher. Debbie Gardner and Jay Maskell headed up the Trauma Trannies team - some rather unbelievable looking nurses ably assisted by some real ones, whilst Peter Budny’s Zing Zing team stretcher body was akin to an art installation worthy of the Turner Prize.
